5 Students Receive 2023 Spartanburg Housing Marche Gault Scholarship
SPARTANBURG, SC - Spartanburg Housing awarded 5 students with the 2023 Marche Gault Scholarship.
The Spartanburg Housing Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 and was later renamed to honor former employee, Marche Gault in 2004. Ms. Gault passed away in 2003 leaving a huge impact on the agency as she was instrumental in developing youth services including a choir, track team and after school programs for Spartanburg Housing residents. In her honor, Spartanburg Housing offers a scholarship opportunity annually to residents to assist students in their pursuit of higher education. This scholarship is for post-secondary educational opportunities to be utilized at a college or university. Since 2001, Spartanburg Housing has awarded more than 79 scholarships with a total of $131,378.
Below are the 2023 Spartanburg Housing Marche Gault Scholarship recipients:
Kameryn Geter-Whiteside, Spartanburg High School, $1,000 - Geter-Whiteside is a 2023 graduate of Spartanburg High School and will attend the University of South Carolina Upstate in the fall and major in Sociology.
Amaria Jones, Dorman High School, $1,000 - Jones is a 2023 graduate of Paul M. Dorman High School and will attend Lenoir Rhyne University in the fall and major in Psychology.
Courtney Miller, Spartanburg Community College, $1,000 - Miller attends Spartanburg Community College and majors in Accounting.
Jacobe Harris, University of South Carolina, $1,000 - Harris attends the University of South Carolina and majors in Cyber-Security.
Jasmine Brannon, Capella University, $1,000 - Brannon attends Capella University and majors in Psychology.
Donations to the Marche Gault Scholarship fund may be sent to the Spartanburg County Foundation.
