Applications will only be accepted electronically by applying at portal.shasc.org beginning Monday, November 14, 2022, at 9:00am. The application portal will close on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at 4:00pm.

Note:  This is for a waiting list; immediate/emergency housing is not available.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.

Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments.

Housing choice vouchers are administered locally by Spartanburg Housing and must be used within Spartanburg County.
